David Fischer Stumbled upon this by chance via BMP. Very intriguing record, there are hints of atmospheric and depressive black metal every now and again, then again the record goes wild and clobbers you. The interludes as well as the cover art are incredibly tasteful, production is on point. Polish black metal makes me think of foggy, icy nights on lonely streets. Przeddzien is just the perfect soundtrack for that. Favorite track: Przeddzień.

Devoted to the classic 90’s black metal atmospheres, Polish black metallers ODIUM HUMANI GENERIS musical concept is enriched by intense urban depressive themes and some very personal lyrics.

Their sound, influenced by the likes of Mgla, Taake and Lifelover, has a lot of intriguing twists, while songwriting features impressive riffing that often shapes a truely melanchonic atmosphere.

Formed in Lodz, Poland in 2015, the band has released “Zmora” demo-tape in 2018 and shared the stage with the likes of Uada, Mortiis, Pillorian and Malokarpatan, delivering stunning live performances and making themselves known in the prolific Polish black metal scene.

In 2020 ODIUM HUMANI GENERIS signed a two albums record deal with Cult Of Parthenope label and will release their new opus “Przeddzień” in October 2020.

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity. Favorite Track(s): Die Feuertaufe, Grabenlieder edoerfler

Late 90's BM worship, but it's also a lil more than that. This album takes the best elements from the scene it's inspired by and mostly avoids the worst of it; the song-writing is well-written, it's performed with passion and fun, and the production is raw but isn't lo-fi. (i.e. it doesn't obfuscate and/or suckass). Tl;dr It's safe but high quality BM. Recommended. Rabbit
